Micro Superfilm
Posted by snobrd13 on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 11:54 AM
Hi out there,
Got a frustrating problem....and I'm hoping that some of you out there have solutions..so to speak...since the solution (Superfilm) is my problem.
I'm applying superfilm by brush, thin, smooth, single stroke where possible, to brittle decals (some old, some not so old) and it is preventing them from breaking up but then they seem to curl up from the surface along the edges.
Any suggestions? Maybe I should be using good ol' Future instead?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

It's been my experence that a lot of the time when a decal set gets older the decals will absorb moisture out of the humidity of the air (usually around the edge of the decal) and activate. Then the glue won't have the strength to hold the decal to the surface. (It can get so bad that the decal will be glued to the sheet and won't even lift off the paper)

When this happens to me, I've had good luck by soaking the decal in a 50/50 mixture of water and white glue (Elmer's works well). Have even applied it to a decal that has already been installed. Micro Sol and Micro Set will also help in sticking the decal.

Hope this will help.
