Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, April 3, 2003 5:37 AM
I REALLY NEED YOUR ADVICE HERE. AFTER YOU BUILD ALL OF THESE DIORAMAS, WHAT DO YOU USE AS A DUST COVER OR A DISPLAY CASE? I KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT DUSTING THESE THINGS EVERY MONTH. PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE. I NEED TO COVER AIRCRAFT, 1:25 PICK-UP TRUCKS, SHIPS AND 1:43 DIECAST VEHICLES.

I would suggest a visit to Walmart and purchasing the 6' tall multishelved bookcase (some assembly required) and the find a piece of plexiglass and attaching hinges and a latch. If needed, run some of that self stick foam window/door insulation around the front of the bookcase. This will keep dust from entering and if you are really feeling motivated, you can find some small lights and rig those up under each shelf to show of your masterpieces.

I had the problem of not finding the right size case so i jsut make my own now. its pretty easy really, just go to a glass store and buy a sheet of acrylic and cut it to the size you want the case to be. don't buy the stuff at a home improvment store though cause they are more expensive and also a lot of auto glass stores will give you pieces for free.

HEY,
For cars you can go to walmart and get display cases for pretty cheap. Also you may want to go to the international hobby store..... EBAY.
