Can you use it to build an entire model, or is that not recommended?

You can build most of the model with it alone if you want.

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

Sure you can. It's really personal preference. However, on plastic models, solvent glues actually "weld" the plastic together, providing a more solid bond - particularly on large components.

If you ever get into resin kits, they have to be completely assembled using CA glue since solvent glues don't react with the resin.

If your'e building a resin kit, CA ( Super Glue ) or epoxy are the only alternatives. For a regular injection kit, you could use it for the entire build but I wouldn't recommend it. It's very useful for gluing non-plastic parts like Resin or PE to the styrene, but liquid glues like Tenax or Testors will give better results glueing plastic to plastic.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm about light years away from touching a resin kit though.
