airbrush fails to atomize

many thanks for all your replys. took air brush apart cleaned put back together now works fine even though it was new and had never been used there must have been a blockage. Its a badger 200nh kit. many thanks everybody

Best bet is to take it apart, following manufacturers's suggestions, and clean the sucker. Then, check your pressure source. If it's propellant cans, shermanfreak is right. Replace the can. If you have an airbrush compressor, check the psi setting(if you have an adjustible airflow regulator). If that doesn't work, buy a new one or grab your brushes. :)

To clean your airbrush in a save way, you can put it a few days in Shaving foam, it doesn't work with shaving gel.
I once cleaned an airbrush that was clogged for a couple of years. The thing was never cleaned.

Having gone to people's homes who have complained about their computers not working and fixing it by plugging the beast in, I'm going to ask a couple of basic questions.
Is your air brush the basic badger kit?
If so, have you tried adjusting the height of the needle tip? If it is too high or low it will not function properly.
What are you using for propellent?
If you using canned propellent for any length of time they become cold and do not work well at all.
Sometimes the simplest answers are the correct ones.

buy a new airbrush

The airbrush is clogged and needs cleaning. Take it completely apart and soak the smaller parts in thinner. Use pipe cleaners and tooth picks to clean the parts. Do not force anything into the nozzle as you might damage it. Be careful with the needle valve as you don't want to bend the tip. Use a cloth soaked in thinner to clean the needle valve. Wipe clean and give it another try.
