Remove before flight tags
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 8:11 AM
I read somewhere on these forums that a hobby shop had 1/48 scale remove before flight tags, but they weren't photo etched. Does anyone know where this is or where I might get some?

I have some 1/48 scale decals of these if that's what you are looking for?? They were made by Mike Grant and came with some Hamilton Standard prop decals... I'll use the prop decals, but will never use the others...email me your snail mail addy if you want them...err-- how many do you need?

that's what I was thinking... painters masking tape is much thinner than regular masking tape. You can get it at hardware stores and Wal Mart and such. It will say painters masking tape on it and it is usually purple or blue. It has a LOT less adhesive on it too so would be easier to remove for use.

The only place I could find them on the net was here.

http://www.meteorprod.com/

If you click on the search catalog link and type in "remove before flight" there is a choice of 10 sets to choose from.

I can tell you this though the Teknics set in 1/32 scale and the Reheat models set in 1/48 are both photo etch sets though. The others I have no idea on.

Be advised though that the Reheat set in 1/48 has 55 long flags, 16 shorter flags, and separate safety pins, but not enough decals with lettering to make all the flags. That one I still can't figure out.

Hope the site helps
