QUOTE: But if its there and you need to cut something, it saves your workbench, at least a little. It's more of an eyesight thing wit the contrast

Yeah, I didn't think of that. On my bench ... well, you'd have to see it to understand. Suffice it to say a few more knife cuts wouldn't make a lot of difference.

Yeah, on pe a hard surface is the way to go. But if its there and you need to cut something, it saves your workbench, at least a little. It's more of an eyesight thing wit the contrast

A very good idea, thanks for passing it along. For cutting PE pieces from the fret I like to use something hard, typically a piece of ceramic tile I picked up at Lowes for about $0.50. I'll sure try the black posterboard though.

PE and Black Posterboard

This may be old hat for some, but right after taking some pics of my inprogress model that had been backed up by a black piece of poster board, I continued working with the PE parts and found that life was much easier. It provided an excellent contrast to the brass and there was no hunting and pecking. Much like Aber does when it packs their PE sets. It's only $0.50 at walmart and also serves a half way decent cutting mat.

Hope this helps someone.
