HEY,
Something that also worked for me is to tape it off like you would for using the dullcoat technique, but instead take a peice of toilet paper or something and dip it in enamel thinner and wipe it over the plastic a few times. Worked good for me and its not extremely "dusty" but its enough for you to tell its there and its very cool lookin.
