WW II RAF Cam- How to mask
Posted by tknight on Monday, April 28, 2003 11:49 AM
As I understand it the demarcation for RAF Cam is quite sharp, as compared to US of that era. Can someone please suggest a masking technique so I can get this right on the 1/72 MK I Spit I'm trying to finish.
TIA
Regards, Tim

I have used thin strips of tape that I could bend without lifting to follow the outline of the patern and then filled in with tape. I have also cut the patern out of wax paper and then tacked it down to the model. You can also hand brush the edges and use the air brush to fill in the middle. Last, draw the patern edge on a wide piece of tape and cut it out with an exacto knife.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

I recommend Wayne's last suggestion. Cut the shape out of masking tape.

Sorry for the brain cramp. The wax paper holds the tape mask after I've used it, in case I want to do another kit wityh the same patern.
