I've had no problems spraying acrylics with lacquer (Dullcote) straight from the can. I do it on all my kits. The key, however, is as bstrump says: thin coats...

If your thinking of a relatively mild lacquer like dullcote or Tamiya it should be okay as long as you spray it on in thin coats with an airbrush. Don't try to dump it on straight from the spray can. Hope this helps.

Can you spray a coat of lacquer over an acrylic or watercolor wash?

Thanks,
