The other day I found another possibility. The Hobby Lobby (or any other craft store) sells these sheets of acid free paper. I believe they are mostly used in scrapbooking. Anyway, I found some covered in "suede." Real fine velvet like texture. Just like miniature carpet. Comes in different colors. Or you could buy the white and try airbrushing it yourself. Personally, I bought some black. I used it for the roll cage pads on a dragster I'm currently working on. Looks good to scale. And has that "foam like look" to it. But, because it has a paper backing, I believe it would be hard to go around a sharp curve without buckling.

Oh yeah, what's even worse was she was a model. Sooo.
An old junker who builds models, married to a model that builds junkers.
hmmmmmm.
If the Tamiya product doesn't work out, try the miniature shops (the places that sell doll house miniatures) I have found some pretty neat stuff for dioramas and such in those shops. They even pay attention to scale so you might find a swatch of fabric that looks just like scale automotive carpeting.

My wife built and raced a 68 camaro.
(Define Irony....I build models, my wife builds cars...just threw that whole sterotype out the window.)

Ok guys i need some hints or advice about something.
MY WIFE wants to build a MODEL as i jsut recently got back into modeling she wants to try it out. So we went out and got her a cheap AMT ERTL 68 Camaro Z/28 Kit for her to start with. Well while in the local hobby shop she saw this Testors Simulated Carpet, so we bought it i read the instructions on how to apply it but was wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom to share on this type stuff.
Thanx for taking a look
