How to paint thin straight lines?
Posted by Tankmaster7 on Saturday, October 16, 2004 6:02 PM
I am currently working on ane me-262 model kit, and the instruction call for a thin yellow stripe around the tail end of the plane. No decal is provided. How would I paint this without having it look really messy?
Thanks, Tankmaster

I would probably paint the yellow frist, then cut a thin piece of tape with a straight edge and mask over the yellow and then paint your main colors.

or do the reverse, that is get two pieces of tape and mask the line in between the two pieces.

yeah but if you are using dark colors like RLM 70 and 71 on the fuselage the yellow would have trouble covering it... I would paint the lighter color first then the darker, the opposite would be if it were a white fuselage, paint the white first, the mask the stripe on both sides and paint the yellow in between...
