quick question....

hey...

just working on a 1/72 apache, and i need to pauuty up a seam, but there is some raised detail on the edge of one of the parts, and i dont wanna cover it up (coz of my shonky puttying skills:)) so im just wondering if masking tape can be used to protect the edge? or will the putty react weith the tape? im using squadron green putty thinned with DA (thanks fior the tip forster!!)

ps. im using 2-5 cm lenghts of windsreen wiper blades as a putty trowel and its great, apply the putty, let it dry for a few seconds( is it me or does the thinned putty dry fast?)( and will the thinned putty shrink more than normal stuff??) then squeegee it off.... this way there is minimal sanding....
