HELP!! with clear plastic
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, October 25, 2004 3:15 PM
I need some help regarding how to remove old glue from a windshield. I am salvaging an old model that was given to me at a garage sale. The windshield has lots of old glue and residue on it, and I need to know how to remove it. Any ideas?????

Cut and scrape as much off as you can. Sand any melted areas with finer and finer grades of sandpaper, and polish. Last step would be to dip it in Future, or the Canadian equivalent.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

you'd be surprised how well that works (sanding with lighter and lighter grades of sandpaper) of course with cement I'm not sure how well it will come off...

I just put a nasty scratch on the coanopy of a build last week and in no time flat it actually came back looking better than the original! just started by getting the gouges out, went down to finer and finer grades, and finished with this 'leather' type nail polishing stick I found at Wal Mart... it still had a slight 'hazy' look to it until I re-dipped it in future.. clear as a bell now!
