I've read reports of modelers applying yhe decal to a wet pool of Future, but I have never tried it & probably never wiil. Good advice in the above posts, however.

Ditto to what bstrump said (though I use Solvaset rather than Microset). In my experience, sliding a decal right into liquid Future may make it curl at the edges, or otherwise difficult to get to lay down. Better to coat the surface with Future first and let it dry, then apply the decal; if it's still silvering, Future applied to the semi-set decal will usually be more successful. Good luck.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome]to the forum! The best thing to do is coat your model with Future first if you painted with flats. This will give a smooth surface for your decals. Before you apply the decal, apply some Microset first. This acts as a wetting agent to help avoid getting air trapped beneath the decal. Then use Microsol on top to help settle it down.
If you painted with gloss paints, the procedure is the same. You might have to blot the decal a bit with a damp cloth. Failing all this, you can use Future to adhere the decals as you decribed. Personally, I use a mixture of Solvaset and white glue sometimes as well. Hope this helps!

Decals

It seems that decals and I don't really get along. The problem is silvering. I've started playing around with Future. Now, after the decal has been dipped in water, can I brush some Future on the model where the decal is to sit, then slide the decal onto the wet Future? And following this, what would the procedure be? The silvering isn't a major issue, but it seems I get a bad decal on almost every kit. TIA.
