I have been wondering about this for quite some time, haven't built a plane kit in a long long time.. but I have been wondering if maybe a very very thin strip of velcro to help hold the canopy down and for easy removal, as long as you can strategically place the velcro in a location that wouldn't be noticeable.. *shrug* Just an idea...

Blu Tak is what I use.
The type of stuff you stick posters to walls with.

My 2 cents [2c]

Elmers is what I use.... and for the final placement as well.... first time it can be undone with water for painting the frames same as the fuselage..... second time (permanent} it dries clear... so it looks good.,..

Good luck!!!

Temporarily Attaching Canopies For Painting
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, November 22, 2004 9:34 PM
Folks,

I'm building the 1/48th Hasegawa Nakajima A6M2-N Rufe (Zero with floats), and I'm getting ready to paint it. I've masked off everything that needs masking. I usually just stuff the cockpit with paper towels before painting, but this time I want to try attaching the canopy temporarily for painting. What adhesive should I use to attempt this? I was thinking maybe Elmer's. What do you guys think?
