Liquid mask

I've used the Humbrol Liquid Mask - usually on a/c canopies, there's nothing wrong with the liquid mask - it seems to work quite effectively, but I've found it easier and quicker to use Bare Metal Foil on canopies (apologies to Humbrol for saying that).
You just paint it onto the areas you don't want to paint, let it dry (usually 10-20 minutes) and spray away. When the paint is dry, use a toothpick to peel up a corner of the liquid mask, and pull it off.
I've done lots of 1/144 airliner wheels with the liquid mask - it's easy - just squirt the wheels silver or white as needed, let dry, paint the mask onto the hubs, then spray the tires black, and then pull the mask off the hub. Easy.

Liquid masks can be great for alot of things but I will warn of one problem. Check what the mask is made of, Microscale Micro mask for one is water based, I found out to my horror after spraying Acylic over it, it made the mask impossible to remove without sanding. If I had uused enamel the mask would have come right off with alittle tape.

I use the liquid mask for canopies, wheels and everything else which need to be covered. But be sure that the mask will removed easy. I use a liquid mask from aan airbrushshop which is very thin and easy to use but if it is left to long on the model it hardens to such a level that it is very hard to remove.

You know, guys, I've used Elmer's/white glue and had just about the same result as Maskol? Just dont leave it on for too long, though.

I used micro mask on 3 models (with Xtracolour enamels) recently - but left it on two of them for too long. it hardened and became impossible to remove, had to sand it off. it came off the third one just fine, but it had only been on a couple of days. never had any problems with Humbrol maskol

I used testor parafilm for masking canopies....sometime i 'reinforce' it with maskol....
I only used maskol for uneven masking i.e the face of figure...etc..etc
