Realistic looking Titanium finish

I've found two ways of doing Titanium paint. One requires mixing, the other doesn't.

1) According to Testors, mix 18 drops of Testors 1127 Orange into a bottle of Chrome Silver.

2) Model Master 4676 Jet Exhaust is close enough for me. A few coats, and it looks really good. Also makes a good wash.

There's also Model Master Metalizer - it's a pretty good match. Looks realistic.

Alclad has a good color match as well.

Mix Humbrol Matt Aluminium and Gunmetal until you get the right shade, probably around 90/10 should do it, or even 95/05. The matt ally will take out any shine from the gunmetal. It works for me!

Hi Rob dont know if you can get hold of any but there is a product used in engineering called dry molly spray by rocol it is a molibdenem disulfide paste you spray it on let it dry then polish it. it goes very shiny for a while then dulls down and looks like steel decals go over it but i dont know about laquers yet. if you cant get hold of any to try let me know i will sort something out for you...Greg
