Self Etching ???
Posted by DanCooper on Sunday, December 5, 2004 6:46 AM
Last month an ad in FSM (page7) caught my attention.
The subject was a set produced by Macro-Mark to make your own photo-etched parts.
I wonder if anyone has experience with this set, would it be worth its price (119.95$) ?

I have done some etching using a lot of the same products....The biggest problem(and I am by no means an expert) is the tank is very small...and there is no heater in the tank...plus you really shouldn't use the developer as that... that is technically a stripper for the resist. but here is a leaf spring I created with the same products just not from MICRO-MARK.

and here is the forum where I described a little more of the process!

Thanks for the reply.
Aren't you the one with the 1/24 circus wagon ?
I just love that thing, normally I'm not into building railroad- or circus things, but I've always wanted to do something like that, you're not by any chance considdering swapping the plans for that wagon for something else, do you ?

Hey Dan,

I have a few plans here...I would be happy to scan for you...Take a look at this link

Here are wagons I have built...I have really great plans of the #42 baggage wagon.

Here is a forum of circus builders

And here is a club for circus model builders...

Well, I would certainly appreciate that, Kev. I've always liked those colorfull circuswagons, or even those old Gypsy-wagons.
