Mig or CMK pigments VS pastel powders comparison ??
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 8:16 AM
Hi all,

I am thinking of using Mig powders for weathering. Until now I used pastel powders, which give good results and are quite cheap. I am wondering if Mig or CMK powders are worth the extra cost. Is there anybody with experience with both techniques who could comment on their respective merits?

TIA,

Christian.

I've not used Mig or CMK, but have used quartermaster pigments, and as far as I am able to tell, they are a little bit easier to apply and stick to the model a little better than pastel powders, but not to any significant degree. I guess their one advantage are their colours, which are tailored to us modelers.

Thanks,

I think I will stick to pastels for the time being!

best,
