something new to try!!
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, May 27, 2003 10:45 AM
I got some of my leather luster boot shine stuff on one of my projects but didn't realize it till it was dry. I thought it was a ruined project but no, when I tried to paint over it and everything was dry, it left a raised up look like many layers of paint have been added ( much like most military vehicles) so anyway
I already had my metalic / rust coat underneath . when I tried to peel the stuff off it worked very well to give a chipped look as well.
I really don't know what it will do for a mass model so looks like it's time to experiment?

I had that happen when I accidentally bought and used Turpenoid Natural instead of regular Turpenoid for a wash. I didn't notice anything wrong while I was washing the kit (a Trumpeter T-69 II) but realized something was wrong the next day when I went to pick up the model. It was still wet and sticky. When I tried to wipe off the excess Turpenoid, it stripped away the paint, showing the black I had first painted on the model. I was upset until I looked at the model and realized the chipped paint looked very good. Despite the good outcome I won't use Turpenoid Natural again. Too long to dry and it leaves a sticky residue over the kit.
