Cleaning the Canopy
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 31, 2005 9:57 PM
Hey guys, I painted my masked 1/72 Hellcat canopy and some paint slipped under, spotting the clear plastic. I'm wondering how and what can I use to clean this up without damaging the plastic or my coat of Future. I am using acrylics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

hiruko, You can use a product called Goo Gone which is designed to remove the residue that some adhesives leave behind, however it also removes paint (I discovered this the hard way Sad [:(]). Use a fine brush and work slowly and carefully and you should be able to remove the paint that has seeped under your mask.

Cheers

Dish washing liquid and a Q tip. Wet the Q tip first with water, put a drop of dish washing liquid on the tip. Scrub the canopy with the Q tip and watch the paint come right off.
