Scribing Panel LInes
Posted by dr soggy on Friday, February 4, 2005 1:46 AM
For those of you that dont know me, I am new to modeling. In the process of building my P-51B (1/48)mustang, I needed to rescribe a few panel lines due to sanding. For the sake of learning I decided to rescribe the whole plane. I recomend this to any newbie, for I learned quite a bit about the process (headaches included). I found that long lines were easy, provided you work slowly and make several passes, but small areas were difficult for me. I sometimes had problems where the panels met, and deciding how deep to make the lines. Would anyone like to share there thoughts or experiences on this subject?

dr soggy: go to Swanny's web site, he has a "tools and tips" page, and he has a great article about scribing panel lines. While Swanny specifically talks about scribing lines to replace raised detail, the techniques should work for any scribing.

Hope this helps.
