I'm looking forward to receiving my pack of resin & silicon rubber too... One thing that I've been thinking about with respect to the best method of moulding complex parts, is how to make the moulding plugs? I was thinking of white-gluing a piece of styrene stock to the bottom of (for example) a seat where it could just be razor sawed off, but what about shapes that have detail on all sides? Is it just a case of finding the side with the least detail & using that as the mould plug side?

I've noticed on professionally moulded resin you sometimes get a wafer thin joint between tiny parts. How's that accomplished?

Yes you need to coat your master with a release agent, which is included in the Micro-Mark kit. I've had very good luck with Micro-Marks resin and mold material. It does a great job reproducing fine detail of your master parts.

Hi gang!
Was toying with picking up the starter kit of silicon / resin molding equip from micromark. My question is, when you put an original part in the silicon, do you need to coat it with anything and how much of the silicon will i be picking out of the cracks of the original? or is it pretty good stuff that pops off the original easy?
