I used fiberglass to build my 1/144 Eisenhower aircraft carrier. The thing I hated most were the fumes from the resin and the dust from sanding it. (very messy even when wet sanding). Other than that, I had good results as long as I used 3 coats of resin to keep from sanding down to the fiber cloth.

I've used the resin for casting but not too often because of the fumes and it's hard on molds.

I've posetd similar question on Scale Auto forum. Wondering if anyone uses or has used fiberglass in their modeling? What has been your outcome with it? Do you recommend it? I've used it in full size autos and trucks but never in modeling. Can it be used to mold and sculpt model parts? I've talked to some professional modelers in the TV and movie business that use it but wondering if anyone uses fiberglass in their modeling hobby.
