Howdy,
Am wroking on Acadamy's 1/72 F86F Sabre. Ok, basic assembly done and surface prepared
. Go to the garage and spray Model Master silver, fun
!
Hmm, silver really reveals surface preparation flaws...
, but that's what decals are made to cover, right?!
At least the ones in the right spots...
Now, mask with black electrical tape to paint those gun port panels, which are a slighly different color than silver. Ooooh, nice mixing of paint there buddy, if I do say so myself, looking good.
.
Ok, after drying, remove the electrical tape, and... the shiny surface is removed too!
Now where the tape was it is a flat finish!
What is a good masking for a silver finish, or otherwise way to avoid this? ( I touched it up with a brush, but not as good as air brush of course...).
