anyone able to make larger resin castings? cash offered
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, June 16, 2005 3:30 PM
this is an offer to make a little cash which I hope isnt against the rules.

just kinda saw people here do resin; and thought just maybe.

a while back I had commisioned a mold be made from a master peice from a car headlight reflector about a foot long, and under a inch wide; maybe .2" thick. it was curved as well.

the peice was translucent amber; I wanted it to be clear, maybe tinted white or black. but translucent.

anyway, the guy I found did about 10 over the course of a year Angry [:(!] and then completely stopped answering my calls, emails ect. well I paid them half up front; got half the order, so whatever.

unfortunatly; since then more people have come to me wanting the strips. anyone here do this or capable fo doing this and want to make some money? they were 2 mirror images of the dimensions I said. has to be UV resistant(their on a car headlight, yellowing isnt acceptable), and capable of surviving the temps youd find a car to be in(lets say solid up to about 120-130degrees)

anyway... if anyone here does this sort of thing and wants to make some cash shoot me an email at brian@*removethis*rasecreations.com I want to get about 20 sets made, maybe alot more.

here is 1 side; the original in the headlight and one of the clear ones that I had gotten made before the guy went AWOL. I cant contact him to get the mold unfortunatly, so you'd need to make a new mold, and then pour about 20 sets with it. they are a cosmetic peice, so theyd need to be atleast 98% flawless, no bubbles or anything in them. for the mold and 20 sets (40 peices) Im looking to pay about $1000.
