Paint just the inside of the canopy
You can just dab it in there thick with a brush and it should come out looking nice and smooth.
As for what color to use, that's pretty much just a matter of personal preference.(although I'd probably stay away from pink)

1/144 F-14 canopy

Hello again!

I'm about 90% done with a 1/144 scale F-14. To my surprise, the paint and weathering job on it has turned out better than I could have hoped! Here's the problem. The "cockpit" was very poor in details so I didn't even include it. As a result, I'd like to just paint over the canopy using a gloss blue or maybe even a dark grey. Does anyone out there have a technique they've had luck with? Paint the inside vs. the outside of the canopy? Does it look neater to use a blue color vs. grey or black? Etc. This is my first venture into this tiny scale (I normally do 1/48) and I don't want to ruin what could be a great little model!

Thanks for everyone's help! You guys are great!

Eric
