I have a question about the above. Does this stuff craze plastic? It looks like it will work well for filing small imperfections. Also, can this type of putty be thinned with, and smoothed with nail polish remover?

If you're talking about the stuff in the big orange tubes, it doesn't appear to craze styrene. I've used the nail polish remover/q-tip method of smoothing over seams with some success; I got about the same results using Squadron putty.
