Hi CM, if ur talkin bout showing chipped paint with the aluminum skin showing underneath I think I read the same, works great on larger models like 1/32, possibly on 1/48 also, just touch with silver paint on 1/72nd. Also read that lightening the paint some with white to show wear by the elements (sun), (of course this applies just to the top of the model that catches the rain and sun) paint alternating wing/fuselage panels lghter /darker to show same and where the mechanics have to replace 'em. 'nother way is paint the base coat in different shades (panels), and then go over the panel lines with a dark color (black?) then ur top coat lightly and u see the shades thru the paint. Looked good, course it was done by some1 ALOT better than me, here is a good pic I was talkin bout, if it is still there and is a corsair he says he added 30% white to the blue. http://www.airfieldmodels.com/gallery/display/tamiya_f4u-1a_corsair/images/wallpaper/16800.jpg. Anyhoo, I guarantee u will find all u need to know by spending some quality time in this community, Good luck 2 u!
