Details and Pastels
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, July 25, 2005 3:34 AM
Okay so I must have seen someone already answer this question before, but I was not in class that day. So this is what I am up to, I finish painting my model, now I scratch a pastel crayon (black) making a powder. Then I brush the powder onto my plane in order to bring out the panel lines on the structure? Any tips and or pics welcome.
Thank you

Here is a link to a thread I had a while back and down toward the end there is a description of the method I used. This is after a wash was used to highlight the panel lines as described on Swanny's page and elsewhere in this forum.

This is the second plane I have done and the weather is more subtle but done the same way as above except for some white pastel dust rubbed on the wings with finger tips for an uneven faded paint look. It does not show in the photo that well though.
