This is jwcampjr. I need suggestions on how to paint the details on my EA-6B black box cockpit kit, Especially the dials and panels.

Depends on the level of detail you want. You can use decals or cut out pictures for the MFD screens. Which may have come with the Black Box set, but what I usually do is:

1. Paint the base color for the panels, usually interior gray.
2. Pain the switch plates black.
3. Use a green / blue mix for the MFD screens
4. Dry brush white / light gray for the switches.
5. If there are switches that need to be a different color, i'll hit those with a tooth pics, or fine brush tip. I do this ONLY if I have accurate reverence work to go with.
6. Detail items like ejection handles, oxygen tanks, hoses etc, if persent.

The amount of time I take depends on the scale and how the model will be displayed. It makes no sense to me to super detail a part that no one will every see! Although some people do it, for accuracy sake, your call.

Enjoy!

Archer out.

Wow, when did we get MFD's? I must not have been paying attention!
