New salt technique?
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 7:21 PM
Hello,
Ijust tried the new salt weathering tech. All went well until I painted the coat over the salt. Where the salt and water contact ,it's a different shade and is somewhat glossy. Am I doing something wrong? I'm using tamiya acrylics.
Thanks,

It sounds like you may have sprayed too "wet" or heavy a coat on your first pass that started disolving the salt before it started drying. I'd try a few light mist coats that will dry fast for the initial coats over the salt.

disclaimer I'm guessing as I haven't tried the salt method yet, but that sounds like what might have happened. Big Smile [:D]

What exactly is the Salt technique? Is there a summary of the process in an FSM issue?
Curious..
