I use Future under their regular aluminum type colors, but would also go with gloss black for the shiny colors like polished aluminum and chrome...

I haven't experimented with many colors, but Gloss Black works well.

Use any gloss black enamel or lacquer under chrome. Chrome has the weakest finish among the Alclad paints and it looks best over gloss black. You would never want to use metalizer under Alclad because they are both metalic and metalizer can be very weak if not properly used.

I have heard several people tell me that using gloss yellow, black, blue and even testors metalizers as a base, helps with the results of your Alclad finish.

Which do you guys prefer to use? I am going to be using chrome next and was thinking of using gloss yellow.
