I actually havn't finished the "Indy" yet... but I'll look into "All the drowned
sailors". I'm familiar with the story but I'm sure it'll have some compelling
insights. Another "compelling" book I read last year was "Flyboys" by
James Bradley. It really opened my eyes about western Imperialism in
the1800's and early 1900's

Yeah! Minnesota's a big state. Minneapolis has some fine hobby shops-too bad the Twins, Vikings and Gophers all stink! UofM is my alma mater! I blew a job offer in Alexandria-I hope Target goes through. So you built the Indianapolis, huh? Didja ever read "All the drowned sailors"? I highly recommend the book and it will increase your interest in that ship.

My P's are in Bemidji Dan. It's about a 5 hour haul from Albert Lea.
I'm hoping to get a gig somewhere in the Cities too. I just moved here
last year from Chicago. Big adjustment.
Got any offers from Target? Good luck if it's still open-ended.

I finally got myself a bender (not the drinking kind-I've already mastered
that technique) and I'll be bending and installing some railings in the
hangar deck of my Essex tonight.
You moving back to the cities?

Hey Chris-you betcha! I'm an former Minnesota guy-hope to be moving back soon-although a bit up north. They do sell 'benders' although makeshifts like clamps work. Remember to wash the buggers, too. I sometimes wonder if PE and AM parts are worth the effort.

I'm a big guy with "Banana Hands" and my first experience with PE
was making the crane for the Hasagawa 1:700 Indianapolis. Bad idea.
I had no PE bender, magnifying glass, only cosmetic tweesers, and I
had no idea you guys were here!

Only pure scandinavian stubborness completed the crane...
3 hours later. I then proceeded to mess up the catapult (that little
shuttle was a bugger) and haven't worked on that model since.

I've since purchased a 1:350 scale Trumpeter Essex and I think
that should be easier...think being the operative word.

Thanks to all for the info and support!Bow [bow]

Chris
