what do you mean alternatives? alternative floor polisher or alternative paint? you can use any acrylic clear paint if you wish. Future is just cheaper and shinier for less coats..

You can simpily use any other type of gloss coat available whether it is acrylic, enamel, or lacquer. Just make sure the acrylic paint is fully cured before putting a lacquer over it.

Every product is an alternative to all the others.  You are free to use what you want.  I prefer to use automotive clear coats because they will last forever and they look great.
