Testor clear cote
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, July 21, 2003 11:43 PM
I am using Testors clear cote and the paint is looking cloudy. What am I doing wrong or is it a bad product?

Dear mrozic,
I had the same results with Testors Dull Coat from the spray can. Is the kind your using from a spray can, or are spraying the stuff from a bottle through an airbrush? I decided to use Microsol clear coats, again, from the can. I get much better results.

Sincerely,

Sound like you applied it too heavily. Try spraying in lighter coats. That should help, or if airbrushed, it wasn't stirred enough, or if can, not shaken enough.

Thanks for the info. I did use it out of the can and I am going to try using a lighter cote if that does not work I am going to give up on this product. I am sure that I probably put a heavy cote on the car. Thanks again

Your problem might be high humidity. Try lighter coats, applied in a cool dry room. I would also advise you to shake your spray can frequently while spraying.
