trick for painting WW1 german "streaky"cammo

i recently figured out an easy way to produce the streaky cammo on some german WW1 aircraft esp on the DR1 tripe. first basecoat with the lightest color ( over primer of course ) then comes the 1 tool for this technique. an artists Fan brush it's usually used in oil painting but this technique works best with acrylics. i basecoated with a medium brown, then take your next color i used a dark woodland green. thin it down almost to a thin sludge wash consistency dampen the fan brish with water but not dripping. then dip in the paint start streaking from the dorsal spine down the sides of the aircraft it is fairly easy to control how much you streak the paint if the paint is too thin just add a little more straight paint to the mix. for my third color i aded a couple drops of straight black to the green and continued the streaking  if it seems too dark just brush the damp fan brush with no paint on it to gently remove some of the wet paint

completed paint job on my revell DR1

I will be giving that a try soon. I have wondered on how to do that. Thanks.

Cheers,
