Is their any way to make your own Flat coat ?

i also use testors quite a lot, but if i really go low on budget i use Future with Tamiya flatbase..

luis is right....Future mixed w/ Tamiya flat base.  Swanny has a very good tutorial about Future...

I use a product called Delta Ceramcoat. It can be found in most Arts and Craft Stores. Comes in Matte, Semi, and Gloss. The Matte dries dead flat.

It has no odor, Cleans up with water, Dries in 10 minutes, and best of all no mixing. Just shake the bottle vigorously or use a paint mixer( it will settle on you in the bottle if you let it sit for on extended period) , pour it in your A/B or brush it on and you are done. Wait 10 minutes and you can put on a second coat.

I tried the Tamiya Flat Coat/Future mix just today and it turned out pretty good.  I had a glossy finish on my FW 190, bought two different cans of flat coat (Testors was one, can't remember the other).  Neither did anything to dull the finish.  finally decided to give the Tamiya flat base/future a try, and it worked!   just be sure to experiment with the mixture.  Haven't read Swanny's article article, but read somewhere else that a mix ratio of 3 parts Future 1 part Flat base gives a dead flat finish. add more future for semi gloss finish.
