Bare Metal Foil - Help
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 29, 2005 2:52 PM
I've successfully used BMF on areas that are flat or gently curved. However, when I try to use it to give the right effect on an hydraulic piston the diameter is so small that I can't seem to get the foil to adhere to the plastic. Any suggestions?

is the BMF process like putting on decorative gold foil?  If i remember correctly craftsmen usually brush coat an object with some gin (no joke) for better adheasion to wood and stuff.

I've not had much success either on such small items.  And when I do get it close to right, it just seems too bright for the scale anyway.  You might want to try Metalizer Paint, polished aluminum and do the polishing with a Q-Tip.  Good Luck,  Chris
