Which glue to use?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 7, 2003 12:19 PM
I am using photo-etch parts for the first time. The instructions recommend using cyanoacrylate glue. I have two types of glue on hand. The first is alpha cyanoacrylate ester. The other is ethyl cyanoacrylate. What is the difference between the two or is there something better to use? Any other advice would be useful. MartyM2828

The ethyl cyanoacrylate commonly goes by the name Krazyglue, among many others. The alpha compound you mention is a methyl cyanoacrylate. Both materials are adhesives and would probably work well for your PE parts. I do have one question: What are the BRAND names and manufacturers of the glues in question?

Thanks Gip for the advice. I would like to say that I am new at using this 'forum' but I believe that it will be of great help to me in the future and I look forward to speaking with fellow modellers that have a lot more insight than I do. MartyM2828
