AHHH!!!

today i removed the canopy for my Acadademy Hornet from its bag, AND ITS CRACKED!!! Angry [:(!] I hadn't even touched it until today.

Are there any aftermarket 1/32 hornet canopies out there? or do you think Academy would send me a replacement...maybe?

sipmle. buy a new kit, and give me the old.. JUST KIDDING!

ok try stuffing the old one with epoxy putty then putting some cooking oil/greasy slippery stuff then heatting a clear sheet of plastic then vacuforming.

With the cost of the kit, I would hope that Academy would send you a replacement, postage-free. If they don't respond, place a notice in the Forum about your experience. You have the power of 20,000 members behind you. Good luck !

It never hurts to email. I lost some of the ribs from an Eduard PE set, sent then an email asking if I could BUY the rib fret separately, and they sent me one free (I didn't even have to pay shipping). What was even more amazing is that I told them I had "lost" the ribs while trying to assemble it. I'm definitely a loyal eduard customer after that.

wow...after sending quite a few emails, I have finally received a reply.

I first sent a few emails to the main Academy address, and finally heard from the Germans about a week later. They told me to contact the nearest supplier, and gave me a long list of guys all over the world. The US supplier happened to be Model Rectifier Corps.

I sent an email, but it went without reply for two weeks...then sent another. Finally, today, I heard that the first email had gotten through, but no one replied to it. So, they just went on to tell me that he canopy was on its way!! WHOO!

At long last, I can resume construction!

That took a little longer than I wanted, but, hey...for a 100 dollar model to be repaired, i'm willing to be a little patient.

Hey Giuys!
Squadron Mail Order has a line of products just for those accidents!!
They are not as detailed as some of the original kits, but for under $3 it is a good alternative to buy a new kit. They offer a good selection in 1/72,1/48 and 1/32 scales.
The delivery is quite fast! It is too bad they don't do propellers (but they offer cockpit sets & weighed tires)

You had better luck than I had. I have a Hasagawa 1/48 F-104 that has the rudder missing. I contacted Hasagawa in May, by letter and e-mail several times. I have yet to receive the rudder or any reply from Hasagawa.
