Photo-Etched Brass Detail Sets
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 28, 2003 9:58 PM
I want to spruce up some of my models with some photo-etched detail sets, but first I need some info!

Do you have to heat up the metal to bend it?
What kind of glue should I use?
Any other important junk I should know.

Thanks,

Bars,

No, you don't have to heat it. Just bend it to whatever contour you need. Use super glue, epoxy, white glue (Elmers) or clear enamel to attach.

Agree with everything Hoser already posted but I will also add that many PE sets come with parts that are not necessary to improve the kit that you are working on. Be a little selective in the choice of parts you want to put on.

You got that right, shermanfreak. The PE set I have from On the Mark Models for Tamiyas Tiger I has more parts than the kit does!
