Groundwork Techniques
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, August 31, 2003 11:01 AM
I'm new to the board, and am primarily an armor modeler and figure painter (25mm to 120mm). I'm a better than average painter, but my work (especially my figures) seems to suffer from unimaginative bases. Can anyone recommend a good book, article, website, etc, where I could find some advice on how to make bases/groundwork? Can anyone recommend the best types of dried flowers for groundwork? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Brian,
Check out the gang at the diorama forum. I am sure they can spur your imagination.

If you can get Shep Paine's Guide to Dioramas- you are golden. It's even available through FSM I believe....but I also have a Terrain Modeling book from Osprey that is excellent!
