Nov 2003 Issue Technique Question
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 2:40 AM
In the Nov 2003 issue of Fine Scale Modeler there was an article about dealtailing and weathering a Kommandowagen. In the article the author mixed putty and liquid cement to create a rusty look on the exhaust pipe.

I was wondering what type of putty and cement he used to create this effect or what type of putty and cement could be used to create this effect. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance

Regards

That would work with Squadron putty and Tenex 7R. could achive the same results by mixing Squadron White putty with acetone based fingernail polish remover.

A technique I learned years ago for 1/35 armor exhausts was to brush paint a thich coat of rust colored paint and while it is still wet, either sprinkle on or roll the item in baking soda, let it dry and paint on another coat of paint - has always worked well for me Approve [^]Approve [^]Approve [^]
