Dumb Dullcoat Question

Hi All,
I'm putting the finishing touches to my first project after a 15 year hiatus and I have a really dumb question, so please forgive me. I have airbrushed the model with Model Masters enamel, and when I finish attaching the last of the PE, I want to spray it with Testor's Dullcoat. I'm 99.9% certain that this can be done with no ill effect on my paint job, but since it has taken me a year to complete the model and airbrushing came out so well, I'm not taking any chances. For some reason I think I remember hearing about some laquer over enamel horror stories. But, maybe not. Are there any pitfalls in doing this I should be aware of ? Should the Dullcoat be thinned ? Should the applying of the Dullcoat be a "misting" type of spray ? Or sprayed directly onto the model like it was a coat of paint ?
Thanks,
Ted
