Have you thought about picking up a scrap of crushed velvet from a fabric store or somebody who sews? I'm not sure if this will provide the right texture though.

You may want to ask the auto modelers... I seem to recall there is some sort of flocking material that they use to reproduce cloth seats.

when looked from distance the fur looks like a rough texture rather than individual fillamenets. You can try coarse sanding not recommended or tissue, or vitex cloth (kitchen use), which has a slight fairy look.

Like i said in one of my other posts, i am building a pimp mobile and i want to make fur seats. Is there a cheap way to make them? Thanks.
