                        G'day,

                        Does anybody know what Tamiya AS paints are?

                        I bought the Tamiya 1/72 Birdcage Corsair.  A majority of the paints referred to are Tamiya X or XF range, however, the main camo colours are "AS".  I've had a look in the shops and see the rattle cans by Tamiya are designated "TS".

                        Anybody know what these "AS" designated paints are?

                        The "AS" range is a line of spray cans for aircraft, hence the name "AS" - which presumably stands for "Aircraft Spray". It's an extension of the spray can range.

                        These spray paints are specially developed for finishing aircraft models. Each color is formulated to provide the authentic tone to 1/32 and 1/48 scale model aircraft. now, the subtle shades can be easily obtained on your models by simple spraying. Each can contains 100ml of synthetic lacquer paint.
