You can run a pencil along each panel line, rather than use a wash.

I have used that method on this old Monogram MiG-15 with raised panel lines. I dont recall and major issues with it and as you can see the results look good.

The only thing I do remember is that the clean up of the wash is where it all comes together. If need be, a second spot application was needed to get the desired effect in some areas.

I'm currently building the Hasegawa 1/32 spitfire.  It has raised panel lines.  How would that affect the weathering process?  I have read lot's on recessed, but have never seen raised panel lines addressed.
