Bubbling through the paint cup? Uh Oh...
Posted by Sic Semper Tyrannis! on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 8:01 PM

My beloved Omni 3K started blowin bubbles through the paint cup today. Never had this problem in the 3 years I've owned it.

I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly, inspected the parts and carefully put it back together. Same result. I got a Opel Maultier sittin' here needing a coat of paint and I am stuck. Can anyone help me out here?

Needs more cleaning. This happens when inadequate air gets all the way through the system.

This happens to me when I use acrylics. They tend to build up quickly on the tip of the needle. Usually a quick cleaning of the needle fixes the problem for me...but it sound like you did this already!

Good Luck!

I tooled around with it last night for a few hours doing a bit of detailed super-cleaning. I noticed that the cone shaped tip had a bit of damage that I could not see until I put on my opti-visor. The tip o' my needle was also a bit chewed as well. Looks like my beloved may have been dropped and landed on the tip. I knew something was up when I went in my hobby room and everything was a lil askew.

It seems I will be ordering parts instead of painting this evening. Thank you all for your assistance.
