Inline Moisture Trap
Posted by darth_trader on Monday, August 25, 2008 10:55 PM

Fellow Modelers,

I'm a rookie airbrusher, & I'm having some issues with moisture spattering while airbrushing.  I have a moisture trap connected directly to my compressor.  Unfortunately, this isn't much help.

I use a Paasche H AB with 6 foot hose.  I was looking at the inline moisture traps, hoping to alleviate the problem.

My question is, if I purchase one of these traps, I cut my hose in half & then the trap will connect to both ends of the hose?  Any sealant necessary?

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Smile [:)]

Buy the right size of hose clamps and you'll be good to go.

So long folks!

The smallest size of cable tie also works.

The Badger in-line water trap has two nuts that come with the trap. They fit Badger, Iwata and Harder & Steenbeck hoses. (Those are the three I have.) Simply cut the hose a couple of feet from the AB end, slice the nuts on and then press fit the hose onto the water trap ends - making sure to have the trap oriented in the correct direction. Then simply slide the nut onto the section over the water trap and tighten a bit with your fingers. Once you've done that as much as possible, get an appropriate sized adjustable wrench and tighten the nuts  until you've covered the cut end of the hose.

I've doen this to three hoses. No breakage and no air leaks. I use them in conjunction with the water trap on my compressors. No water whatsoever when I use the AB's. (Although I know I've got moisture in my tanks.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all of the helpful info, this is great stuff.

I'm going to invest in an inline moisture trap.

Me & my airbrush thank you for your responses Smile [:)]
